Oceania's Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps on Android in Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Oceania's Maps and Navigation app market on the Android platform showcased interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five applications in this category demonstrated varying patterns in downloads and active user metrics.

Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 13.9K at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at 18.5K in mid-November. The app maintained a strong base of weekly active users, growing from 775K to nearly 958K by early December before settling at 833K at the year's end.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady rise in downloads, climbing from 11.4K to a peak of 18.9K by late December. Its active user base also grew, reaching over 531K by the end of the quarter from an initial 467K.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides observed a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 8.8K and peaking at 13.6K in December. Active users increased from 266K to a high of 364K in early December, before a slight drop towards the end of the quarter.

My 7-Eleven had a varied download pattern, initially rising to 6K and then stabilizing around 3.9K in December. The app's active user count fluctuated, starting at 306K and ending at 285K, with a peak of 343K mid-quarter.

13cabs - Ride with no surge maintained a modest performance, with downloads fluctuating between 3.4K and 4.9K. Active users showed a notable increase from 29K to 39K by mid-December, before slightly declining to end the year at 31K.
